Architectes et artistes de formation, Galdric Fleury et Antoine Fontaine travaillent depuis 2011 en duo, sous le pseudonyme fleuryfontaine.
Ce dialogue au long cours les a amenés à engager une réflexion autour de l’espace — ou plutôt des espaces — qu’ils soient concrets, politiques, intimes ou digitaux, dans une tentative de mettre au jour leurs impacts sur leurs identités et leurs corps, et de comprendre les rapports de pouvoir qui s’y inscrivent.
Pour mener à bien cette recherche, ils emploient des outils et des modes de représentation issus du champ de l’architecture à l’ère du BIM (Building Information Modeling) et de l’architecture forensique, auxquels ils associent le jeu vidéo, la performance, la sculpture ou encore le dessin.
Plus récemment, ils ont réalisé plusieurs courts-métrages d’animation en images de synthèse, au croisement du documentaire et de la fiction, traitant notamment de la violence, de ses répercussions sur les corps et du rôle structurel qu’y jouent l’espace et les images.
Trained as architects and artists, Galdric Fleury and Antoine Fontaine have collaborated as a duo since 2011 under the pseudonym fleuryfontaine.
This long-form dialogue has led them to investigate the concept of space, encompassing physical, political, intimate, and digital realms, in an attempt to uncover their impact on identities and bodies, and to decode the inherent power dynamics within these environments.
To conduct this research, they utilize representational tools derived from the field of Architecture in the era of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and forensic architecture, which they hybridize with video games, performance, sculpture, and drawing.
More recently, they have directed several CGI-animated short films at the intersection of documentary and fiction, addressing themes of systemic violence, its physical repercussions, and the role of spatial and visual mediation in these processes.
